Lake District National Park Guided Walk – Langdale Pikes 16 April 2012

I helped lead a guided walk on behalf of the Lake District National Park today over the Langdale Pikes. Great weather and good visibility all day made it a tremendous outing for 8 walkers plus guides. These walks are provided free by the National Park and details can be obtained from their website or in the ‘What’s On Guide’ available from any Tourist Information Centre in the Lake District.

I have posted the rest of the photos on Facebook for Lakeland Mountain Adventures – check them out. Thanks for a great day.

Guided walks – Lake District

Check out the many guided walks provided by the Lake District National Park throughout the season. They cover all areas of the Park and are geared towards all abilities. They are led by experienced Voluntary Rangers and their knowledge and experience of the area will add to the walk.

Check them out at the website

Have fun without worrying about navigation or weather and enjoy the Lake District – most walks are free unless they involve public transport or a ferry!

New born’s are still magical to me!

April in the Lake District is magical for me – signs of new life everywhere, daffodils, emerging bluebells, trees in bud, apple and hawthorn blossom as well as new lambs. This one was minutes old and could hardly stand – the first lamb just sat down behind new mum and sibling. What a wonderful ‘feel good’ time of year it is – don’t let the weather put you off – after all as Wainwright said, “there’s no such thing as bad weather – just wrong clothing”. Enjoy your Easter break.

HF Holidays – Sedbergh

Just back from leading with an HF Holidays group in the Yorkshire Dales. We stayed at Thorns Hall in Sedbergh and were treated to some great food, excellent hospitality and brilliant company. Mixed weather (sun, snow and biting cold) added to the ingredients in what was a tremendously good week of walking with lovely people.

If you haven’t looked at HF Holidays yet – look at the website at and see how to enjoy the best walking holidays in the world.
